Enea Bastianini has never been shy, and it's not going to start in Italy. Subject of a controversy involving race management barely a week ago, “Bestia” wants to forget this episode to concentrate completely on his national GP. In sixth place during Practice, he has a good chance to fight for positions of honor, and perhaps, tickle his teammate Pecco Bagnaia. In any case, he believes in it, also aware of the impact of his results on his employer's decision regarding his future within the Ducati family.
An ultimately mixed day for Enea Bastianini, who was only able to unlock performance in the afternoon. « My day didn't get better until late. During the second attack, I regained good sensations, I could really let myself be carried away by the bike. I was more relaxed than in the morning, and then, in the end, direct qualification into Q2 is here » he asserted for Speedweek, very rightly so. He was even ahead of Jorge Martin in the standings, but for nothing.

He knows that discussions are soon over regarding his future. Obviously, the 'Martinator' should join Pecco Bagnaia in the factory lineup, leaving him without a direct solution. Every result counts, and there is no doubt that a victory, on Ducati land, would perhaps make the difference for another high-performance handlebar. « Results matter, but first I want to think about my race. That's what matters most to me. I dream of winning this GP and I will try to make it happen now. I have a good chance, in my opinion, especially in the long race on Sunday. » he declared.
He also returned to the famous controversy which caused quite a stir in the paddock, following his refusal to perform two long laps during the Catalan Grand Prix. « The incident must be put on the table, and we must discuss. Good communication is important between race management and drivers, and currently, it is non-existent » he declared on this subject.
