The difficult start to the season continues for Enea Bastianini in ItalyThe KTM rider, who is in serious trouble with his RC16, has not really found a lasting solution. For this reason, he certainly did not need a crash at Mugello. The Italian was the first to fall on Sunday, but we never saw any images of this mishap. Apparently, Johann Zarco – who retired shortly after – was also involved.

"Bestia," who finished second in the previous edition of the Italian Grand Prix, did not shine this weekend. He bitterly regrets this mistake, as he believes there was something to play for. « I'm sorry, because I needed a positive result and I was sure it would happen.Johann Zarco attacked me at Biondetti, and I tried to resist on the outside, which made us lose a lot of time. Then, when braking at Bucine, I was sucked into his bike and fell. I didn't expect it, the race could have been magnificent » he declared for GP One.

 

 

Vinales and Tech3 had implemented a very specific strategy to recover as many positions as possible. « I wanted to give it my all at the start, to make up as many places as possible.. And from what I saw on the first lap, I had the pace, I was fast. I think I could have finished around sixth place. I wouldn't have beaten Maverick, but I could have competed with Pedro Acosta and Brad BinderThis morning we tested a new part on the bike and it worked, so we kept it for the race.", he added. Unfortunately, we were not able to see the progress of "Bestia", but perhaps he can reach a new level at Assen?

 

 

The former official Ducati rider is confident. « Assen is a technical and difficult circuit, where you can succeedI feel like I've taken a step forward, so I'm expecting a good result. We're going in the right direction, I'm feeling better and better on the bike. We'll just have to try to make the KTM less nervous on the kerbs. It won't be easy, but we can do it. », he concluded.
