Jack Miller

By joining the ranks of KTM after having enjoyed success at Honda then at Ducati, Jack Miller is giving himself the opportunity to make the history of motorcycle racing. How ? By asserting himself as one of the drivers who has achieved success in the major Grand Prix category with no less than three different manufacturers. An achievement not so easy to finalize since there are only four in history who can claim it. And while Maverick Viñales is trying to make this gang of four also a club of five, the illustrious Valentino Rossi like Jorge Lorenzo have missed the mark. So, who, JackAss or Top Gun, will be the first to achieve the feat?

Jack Miller will undoubtedly wish to put the brakes on this statistic to Maverick Vinales, which will mean that the Australian will have learned the subtleties of the KTM than the Spanish those of theAprilia. Furthermore, the teammate of Brad Binder will be part of the contingent of nine drivers who will have changed teams in 2023. During his previous eight seasons in the premier category, Miller rode with Honda et Ducati, scoring race victories with both bikes. Now that he is joining a third manufacturer, he could become the first driver of the era MotoGP to achieve three race victories with three different manufacturers.

Before that, Eddie lawson was the last rider to achieve the feat with victories for Yamaha, Honda and Cagiva in 1992, succeeding Randy Mamola who had done it with Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha, the most recent of which dates back to 1987. The racing legend Mike Hailwood was the first rider to do so, scoring 500cc victories with Norton, MV Agusta and Honda, the last of which in 1967.

Meanwhile, if Valentino Rossi managed to come to fruition with Honda and Yamaha, it failed with Ducati. As for Jorge Lorenzo, he enjoyed success with Yamaha and Ducati but missed the boat with Honda. For his part, Maverick Vinales has won with both Suzuki and Yamaha and is looking to do the same with Aprilia. With Jack Miller on a KTM in the making, it’s a great prestige duel that promises to be…
