After an initial collision on the first lap exiting turn 5, Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia found themselves once again competing in the final moments of the Portuguese Grand Prix. A game with an epilogue certainly known but still debated and which will undoubtedly still be after this testimony from Jack Miller who observed the duo in a duel throughout this race in Portimao, and enough to suspect that it would end in blood sausage …

Pecco Bagnaia, after having already lost a place to Peter Acosta following a fierce battle during the race, saw Marc Marquez launch an offensive on him at the same turn 5, a few laps before the finish.

However, determined not to cede his position, the official Ducati immediately responded by sneaking inside the eight-time world champion. However, the pilot Gresini had barely strayed from the ideal trajectory, leading to a collision that saw them both fall.

Jack Miller, who had been observing the situation from the start, had already sensed tension: “ it was predictable from the start, as soon as they exited turn 5, there was a direct collision between them."

Jack Miller: “ between them, there was clearly no love and everything ended up degenerating towards the end »

He adds, " at the exit of this bend, they collided and, each time they touched three or four times while accelerating towards the next corner. Each time, the one on the outside lost the front, and the one on the inside almost lifted the wheel. I was right behind, trying to keep pace, but I was expecting a major collision ahead of me."

« There was clearly no love between them, they all pushed hard from the start like the rest of us, but everything ended up degenerating towards the end. It's unfortunate what happened, but it's racing, and I have no doubt that these guys will rise again for the battle in Texas."

« It's a circuit where it's difficult to overtake cleanly, and what happened was unfortunate, but that's the nature of racing. I'm sure these guys will meet up to do battle in Texas,” concludes Miller which therefore gives us an appointment from April 12 to 14 in Austin for the third round MotoGP of the year that is Grand Prix of the Americas ...
