Jack Miller left his native Australia in February to return to his Spanish base from where he will defend his chances in the MotoGP championship as an official Ducati rider.

After three years spent on a Honda at LCR then Marc VDS, then as much in the bosom of Borgo Panigale at Pramac Racing, the one who skipped the Moto2 category in 2015 after a tug-of-war with Alex Marquez in Moto3 will therefore certainly carry a certain weight on his shoulders as the experienced leader of the Italian manufacturer.

Is this why he has just accepted a role as ambassador with the public works equipment manufacturer CAT? Still, the Australian, who took part in private tests in Barcelona yesterday, is impatient to arrive in Qatar, even if he conceded that his results there have not always been the best...

Jack Miller : “It’s like an official test here! The Montmelo circuit is fantastic and having a similar layout to the old circuit at turn 10 is fantastic. You can pick up a lot of speed, the asphalt has a lot of grip, so 10/10 to them for the job! It's great to be back on track with all these great drivers and I'm very excited to do it all again in a few weeks in Qatar. Qatar is a circuit that I really like, even if I didn't have much luck there. But I feel confident going into the Grand Prix: there's a lot of work to do in a short time, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.”

In exactly one month, Jack Miller will therefore participate in his ninth Qatar Grand Prix.
25th, 18th then winner in Moto3, his performances in MotoGP were only crowned by an 8th place in 2017 with the Honda, while he could not do better than 10th with the Ducati, his only result for Borgo Panigale next to an abandonment.

Indeed, it would be a good idea to do better to start the season as leader of the Reds, especially sinceAndrea Dovizioso remains the last winner of the last two editions in Doha, after three second places in 2017, 2016 and 2015. The bar is therefore very high and it will undoubtedly take the strength of a Caterpillar to raise it...
