Jack Miller was brought by Honda to MotoGP directly from Moto3. A bet on the future which required seasons of training which ended with a victory in the rain at Assen. But it was at the moment when the Japanese manufacturer could reap the benefits of its efforts that it decided to stop the experiment there. A situation taken as a godsend by Ducati and an opportunity by the Australian who do not intend to miss this season's opportunity to surprise.
A surprise which will perhaps not be so obvious if we judge by the off-season results of the teammate Petrucci. The discovery of the GP17 went well while the compatriot of Stoner is more demanding of himself. And for good reason: he knows that with an open transfer market among the top players, he has a card to play to further improve his lot.
On his winter campaign, Jack Miller comments: “ I give myself 5 out of 10. I'm nevertheless happy with the work we accomplished, but I fell during the three tests and from now on, I don't want to fall again. Other than that, we did a lot of laps and learned a lot. We progressed day after day ».
« On each circuit, we were able to overcome difficulties and that is an important sign. I can say that we took the right direction. We were fast enough on each circuit. The feeling is very positive. I'm comfortable on the bike, I have confidence and I'm ready to fight, even if everything is not perfect yet ».
