Swiss rider Noah Dettwiler's crash at the Japanese Grand Prix marks an unfortunate turning point in his debut season in Moto3. What had looked like steady progress was abruptly interrupted by a crash at the start. However, his determination and the support of his teammates should see him overcome this ordeal and come back stronger.

The Japanese beginnings of Noah Dettwiler Moto3 race took a dramatic turn last weekend. The young Swiss rider, who expressed great excitement at the prospect of touring the Asian circuits for the first time, saw his tour abruptly interrupted during the first race, after a violent fall at turn 3 of Motegi.

Yet everything had started well: Dettwiler had made a good start and skillfully negotiated the double right-hander. But in the next corner, the young driver lost control of the rear of his KTM, resulting in a spectacular highside. The impact was brutal and clearly caused an injury, leaving Dettwiler lay on the asphalt, conscious but unable to move. Quickly taken care of, he was transported by helicopter to the local medical center for further examinations.

Noah Dettwiler Suffers Broken Tailbone

The verdict has been announced and relayed by speedweek : Dettwiler suffered a fractured coccyx. Although this injury is particularly painful and requires a long rehabilitation, no other serious injuries have been noted. After admission to the clinic and initial treatment, he was able to leave the hospital for Tokyo and began his return flight to SwitzerlandThere, a new medical evaluation will determine the continuation of his treatment.

This accident marks a halt to a difficult season for Dettwiler, who, despite consistent performances so far, had only scored two points, at the US GP in Austin. According to his team principal, David Kriech, the rehabilitation could be long, ruling out any short-term return for the remainder of the current season. However, even with this injury, Dettwiler remains optimistic about his future in Moto3, with the hope of coming back stronger and continuing his career with CIP Green Power Team on the KTM RC4 in 2025.
