Enea Bastianini

Enea Bastianini is in great shape and boosted by his last victory in Aragon to the detriment of Pecco Bagnaia who arrives at Motegi to compete in the Japanese Grand Prix. A deadline that he has never tackled while riding a MotoGP, since the last edition dates back to 2019 due to the health crisis. A lack which does not really frighten the Ducati rider Gresini who, for the moment, has not been given any instructions to leave alone his compatriot Bagnaia, Ducati rider in short, for the quest for a title that mathematics assures him still be playable...

Ce Japanese Grand Prix presents itself as the third episode of the soap opera Ducati begins to Misano and continued in Aragon, last weekend. The script is a fratricidal duel in a sensitive period at the end of the season where the drivers' world title is at stake. The two Italians in Desmosedici are challengers of fabio quartararo, while the old wolf roams around them Aleix Espargaró, ready to seize the slightest opportunity to snatch the piece.

In such a context, a little cohesion would be useful for the general interest of Borgo Panigale. But this is not yet on the agenda… Before entering into these considerations, Enea Bastianini states: “ I am very happy with my last weekend in Aragon, it was probably one of the best of my life. Now we are here at Motegi, a beautiful track, with lots of strong braking as I like it. But unfortunately, I have never driven here with one MotoGP, it will be important to be fast right away for qualifying ».

Enea Bastianini: “ the important thing is to have races well done, like in Misano and Aragon »

On this point, he specifies: “ I don't know if the fact of never having tried MotoGP here is a disadvantage. Since 2019, motorcycles have certainly changed a lot, there is more aerodynamics, we have the rear which lowers, but in any case I don't remember much about the Moto2 races in 2019 ". These generalities out of the way, he comes to the hot news Ducati... " Team orders in favor of Bagnaia? So far so good, it went very well in Misano. I have a very small chance of winning the World Championship, but there is a possibility of racing for that small chance. In the last part of the championship, we will see if I receive instructions from the team, it's something that doesn't particularly worry me ».

It develops : " We talk a lot about this problem between me and Bagnaia, the media push a lot on this subject. But the situation in the box is very calm, my feeling is positive. There are no instructions, we will see what happens in the future. For now this is just a hypothesis. I continue to give 100% to be fast, and that's it ". And he ends: “ the important thing is to have well-run races, like in Misano and Aragon. After the summer break, I took a good step forward, particularly at the start of the weekends, and that is very important for us. I try to give my best every week to be competitive in the championship ". Definitely, the “Bestia” has given up nothing.
