There are down days in a driver's season, and this Saturday at Motegi was clearly one for Tito Rabat. The third free practice session, which took place in the morning, affected the rest of his day since he was the victim of a violent fall which caused severe pain in his wrist.

In order to preserve the latter, the Spaniard chose not to enter the track again for the day. In difficulty this weekend, he was in 21st place in the combined times ranking and did not want to strain his wrist, especially since with the rain, he risked falling again and aggravating his pain. . Without qualifying time, he would have started from the last position on the grid tomorrow, but that was without taking into account the Race Direction who imposed a penalty on him.

Indeed, due to problems with his engine during FP3, he was forced to use a new one, while having reached the maximum number of engines authorized by the regulations over a season, namely seven. By using by an eighth, the sanction could only fall and he will therefore start from the pit lane, five seconds after the others.

If his weekend already looked complicated, it is now more complicated than ever. The Avintia driver is therefore preparing to suffer tomorrow.
