Injured since last weekend, the Suzuki driver did not work miracles on the Jerez circuit this Friday for the second Andalusian round of the season, but is still positive.

If Marc Márquez was at the heart of all attention after deciding to participate in the Grand Prix, just five days after fracturing his humerus, Alex Rins was a little more discreet but just as determined. Victim of a violent fall during qualifying last Saturday, he dislocated his shoulder in addition to suffering a small fracture, which prevented him from participating in the race the next day.

Six days later, the Spaniard is far from recovered but has obtained the green light from the doctors to take to the track. However, as could be expected, he is very far from the leaders and is preparing to experience a very difficult weekend.

Last in FP1, more than three seconds behind the leader, he then finished penultimate in FP2, 1,7 seconds behind. “It was tough today, I expected to feel better on the bike, but my shoulder hurts a lot, especially when braking”, he explained. “In FP1 I didn't take any painkillers, but I took a little for FP2. »

The results are not there but the Suzuki driver still finds positives in his day: “The good thing, despite the pain, is that after these two sessions my shoulder does not seem to be more swollen or inflamed, so tomorrow we have to continue working and fighting. I managed to try different settings and look at what tire choice to make for the race. We'll see if I can be a little faster tomorrow. »
