The season began last weekend at Jerez in a Spanish Grand Prix which was, to say the least, stingy in satisfaction for Valentino Rossi. If the eight-time World Champion had taken this meeting as a decisive indicator for the continuation of his plans, there is no doubt that he would rather think of organizing his wedding with Francesca rather than getting back on his Yamaha. However, this is what he will do this weekend and in the same place. But with, he hopes, a very different scenario…
Barely adequate during free practice, struggling during qualifying, Valentino Rossi did not perform miracles in the race at Jerez last weekend. The season started sadly for the Doctor who also experienced the horrors of technical breakdown. Add to this the furtive spectacle of a Marc Marquez deposit it as if it were evolving in another space-time and you will have plenty to think about.
Valentino Rossi has not yet signed anything for 2021, even if all opinions agree on the fact that a box will be set up for him at Petronas. But the Doctor has often said it again and again: he doesn't want to be there just for show. So we have to show another face. And this will be his ambition for this Jerez 2...
« The Spanish Grand Prix was very difficult for mei. I suffered a lot because of the heat which caused the tire to deteriorate, then I had to abandon the race, which was unfortunate. In a way it's good that we can race again at Jerez this week » says Vale.
Work on the acquired data
The driver with number 46 then continued: “ we can take Sunday's data and use it to our advantage. We will work hard because we want to come back strong this weekend. I feel good and I'm ready to fight again ».
It will be recalled that the Spanish Grand Prix race ended in a double Yamaha , including the victory of the one who will succeed him within the official Yamaha team, fabio quartararo. The Frenchman was ahead Maverick Vinales. The M1 is therefore up to standard while the new tire brought by Michelin received a majority of praise from the protagonists.
