Joan Mir arrives in Barcelona today and will remain hospitalized until Monday.

Joan mir, the SUZUKI ECSTAR team rider, landed today in Barcelona after leaving Brno in the Czech Republic, where he had been hospitalized since Monday following a serious accident during official MotoGP testing.

The Spanish rider was diagnosed with a serious pulmonary contusion after the accident and was transferred to FN Bohunice University Hospital, before finally being able to return to Spain on a medical plane. Upon his arrival, he was directly transferred to the Department of Internal Medicine of the Dexeus University Hospital, where the doctor in charge is Angel Charter, who is also the medical director of the MotoGP World Championship.

As soon as the young pilot arrived, Dr. Charte's team made him undergo the obligatory medical examinations:

“We completed an enhanced cranial CT scan, a chest CT scan, and an abdominal CT scan with contrast. Cranial scan and abdominal scan are normal. We did not observe any damage or damage to a vital organ, nor blood in the abdominal cavity. However, the chest scan shows pulmonary contusion, mainly on the right side. Although the lungs are functioning well and have withstood the scan, there are still these heavy bruises that require rest and observation in the hospital, with daily scans and tests." explains Dr. Charte.

“With my team, we decided to keep him hospitalized until Monday, then we will do another check to see if the contusion has diminished in intensity, and in this case he would go home.”
