The first half of the 2025 MotoGP season has been a mixed bag for Honda. While the Japanese manufacturer is showing clear signs of progress, notably thanks to Johann Zarco's victory at the French Grand Prix and his podium finish in Great Britain, factory team riders Joan Mir and Luca Marini are struggling to translate these advances into concrete results.

Luca marini went through a difficult period, marked by a serious injury contracted during training for the Suzuka 8 HoursVictim of a pneumothorax, the Italian had to miss several Grand Prix.

Despite everything, he maintains a positive attitude:

« It was a difficult period, but I came back in very good shape, in my opinion. I worked a lot at home to recover, and this misfortune also allowed me to progress. Today I'm just happy to be here. It could have been much worse. »

Joan Mir: “ Honda will bring me something that will finally allow me to fight »

Notable fact: Marini is one of the few riders not to have crashed this season. A consistency that unfortunately has not been enough to compensate for a performance deficit that is still present.

On the side of Joan mir, that's a whole different story. The world champion MotoGP 2020 saw a start to the year marked by numerous crashes, often in fights with other riders, which prevented him from really demonstrating his potential or that of the RC213V.

« I have had many accidents, some my fault, some notI try to learn from my mistakes, but it's not easy with those made by others. I hope I have the strength to continue attacking as I do.And I have confidence: Honda will bring me something that will finally allow me to fight »

Although Honda progresses overall, the contrast remains strong between the performances of zarcoAmong LCR, and those of the two pilots of the HRCThe summer break comes at the right time to recharge our batteries, learn from the past... and approach the second half of the season with renewed ambitions.
