Confined at home near Avignon, Johann Zarco respects the instructions and is champing at the bit. In an interview given to the daily newspaper Dauphiné Libéré, he describes his state of mind during this period of coronavirus crisis which calls everything into question. However, he remains hopeful while reminding us that MotoGP, to survive, needs to compete in Grands Prix...

Physical preparation at home, occupation at home, and the mind turned towards the competition while impatiently awaiting the liberating signal which will allow you to put the leather back on and get on your motorcycle, such is the current daily life of all riders MotoGP. The machine is out of sight, but not out of mind. However, before the reunion, there is the wait, all the more interminable as it has no deadline...

« It feels a little strange to have news almost every day that forces us to wait longer. This requires us to be vigilant about adaptation, because there is always the hope that it will start and that we will have a normal season » comments the double Moto2 World Champion.

Johann zarco is also well aware of the economic issues that are underway in the paddock: “ it’s an entire economy that is not functioning. Even if MotoGP is a shop that runs well, it is also thanks to all the public and the organizers who prepare these Grands Prix. This is why these are postponed and not canceled, it is only Qatar which is canceled for the moment. At least not all tickets sold are lost. »

On this point, we will recall that Silverstone announced that it was ready to refund tickets for the British Grand Prix if the crisis situation continued. We will also remember that the high authorities of the category, of Dorna to the IRTA via the FIM and the MSMA, lay the foundations of a plan for continuation of activity by resigning themselves to reducing the number of races this year, or even to freeze any technical development from next week.
