Jorge Lorenzo is on vacation in Dubai, but the coronavirus is also starting to worry the Arab state. The MotoGP test rider appears on social media wearing a mask.

The coronavirus alert also affects Dubai and the United Arab Emirates where Jorge Lorenzo has been staying for several days. The former MotoGP rider, in the company of YouTuber Mario Ruiz, had in mind a vacation without restraint, between evenings in prestigious clubs and shared pleasure. But the Yamaha test rider had to revise his plans. There are 98 people infected in the UAE, but no deaths. From today, bars and pubs are closed as a precaution against the spread of Covid-19. Bars inside restaurants will also be closed.

In a circular addressed to “ all hotel facilities in Dubai », the Department of Trade and Tourism Marketing (DTCM) said that “the decision was in line with precautionary measures aimed at guarantee the health and safety of its residents and visitors. » The temporary closure order will remain in effect until the end of the month. The authorities stated that they “ would continually assess the situation” in coordination with health authorities. Dubai had previously announced the temporary closure of all cinemas, parks, arcade and entertainment centers.

JORGE’S INVITATION TO ALL FANS

Jorge Lorenzo recommended the use of masks, as he showed in a photo posted on social media. “ Hey guys, I was thinking about making a video, but I've always been better at writing than getting messages across on camera. I'm in Dubai at the moment. Here, at the moment, the situation is (supposedly) better, but I could have perfectly been at home in Lugano or in another Italian or Spanish city. As you can see, these days I don't write very often, because all this has disrupted my/our plans. Now is the time to do what is truly important: take care of our health and that of our neighbors, which in this case is the same thing. »

After an initial moment of unconsciousness, everyone takes the necessary countermeasures. “ These are difficult times, this is all new to us and between the initial ignorance and not knowing how to act, we have made the situation worse. However, nowadays we are no longer so ignorant and we have much more information to make the best decision: basically, stay at home and go out to cover our basic needs (always following what 'we are told). This is no joke, life is too precious to be complicated by not doing what we need to do. We have the best example with China, they took this very seriously and it seems they are succeeding. Let's do the same! Let's stay home until further notice (from the experts) and everything will be fine. A hug to everyone, Jorge. »
