Already injured following his fall at the start of the race in Aragon, the Ducati rider was the victim of a violent high side yesterday. After several medical examinations, the doctors declared him fit to run, but he wanted to leave the night to think. So he made his decision.

Jorge Lorenzo certainly didn't need another fall. With already a dislocation of the big toe of his right foot and a fracture of the neighboring toe following his fall in Aragon, the Majorcan had a complicated first day and encountered difficulties during the free sessions. Unfortunately, the situation worsened with the violent high side he suffered in FP2.

If the circuit scanner showed nothing, the Spanish driver was transferred to Buriram hospital for additional examinations. No fractures were detected, but his left wrist and right ankle received severe blows. The Spanish driver then decided to leave the night to decide whether he would ride the rest of the weekend or not.

Even though the doctors deemed him fit to run, Lorenzo chose to withdraw. Very upset, he cannot put his foot on the ground and believes that it is better to rest for two weeks in order to get back in shape and not take any additional risks.

He will therefore have the next two weeks to recover and try to return to the front at the Japanese Grand Prix. This first Thai GP will therefore be done without him!
