The 2018 season ended on a negative note for Jorge Lorenzo. He crashed twice, in Aragon and during FP2 in Thailand, which caused him serious injuries, causing him to be absent for the four Grands Prix of the Overseas tour.

A setback for the one who, after having been wandering for a year at Ducati, still managed to win three victories this season. However, he took part in the last Grand Prix in Valencia, which he finished in twelfth place.

The Mallorcan driver will join the Honda HRC team in 2019 alongside Marc Marquez, the seven-time World Champion. The dream team is thus announced within the paddock as is the possibility of attending a possible cockfight…

It must be said that since his arrival at HRC, Jorge Lorenzo, who said very little even after the Jerez test, was the subject of harsh criticism from fans accusing him of being a little 'arrogant': “Modesty aside, Jorge is undoubtedly a great driver, but his ego is faster than him on the track” thus indicates one of them on Tutomotoriweb.

The response made by Lorenzo was as quick as it was scathing: “While I never really denied or admitted that I was self-centered, on some level an athlete or competitor has the need to be. In fact, I’m even proud of it.”
