It’s a Jorge Lorenzo humble who begins his life in passion red, as if to dilute all this expectation of the fans, felt in recent days who officially inducted him into the Ducati family. Por Fuera understood that he had entered another emotional dimension and he did not hide it. A whirlwind that he wants to resist by placing more emphasis on the work that will have to be done than on the prospect of a world title. A work of which he clarifies the philosophy.

At the dawn of his 30th birthday and at the head of his five titles, he is a Jorge Lorenzo mature and serene who is starting a new career in the Ducati house. The Mallorcan wants to gain some perspective when he is questioned about what his new employer and what his fervent supporters expect of him. He even insists: the world title should not be an obsession.

We must therefore put our noses back on the handlebars, literally and figuratively and this will be the case from January 30 at Sepang, the track which will open the 2017 test series before the first Grand Prix in Qatar on March 26: “ I'm very happy and excited to get back on the bike. It's been a long time now since the Valencia tests where I only rode for two days. I hardly remember the sensations I had then on the Ducati ».

We will therefore have to go back to the basics and work hard. On this subject, does he not regret having left a Yamaha at the top of its form to a Casa Particular in Viñales who already seems to be coping very well with it? The teammate of Dovizioso responds on Motorbike : " in Grand Prix, no one leaves anything to anyone. Everyone works the best they can and if they are lucky enough to be in a great team with a good bike, then they will reap the benefits. ».

« We all work for ourselves and no one leaves a motorbike to anyone else. Rossi didn't leave me a Yamaha, and I didn't leave an M1 for Viñales ". On the latter, he specifies: “ he was very quick from the start. Certainly, the Valencia track is favorable to the Yamaha-Michelin combination, but he clearly has great talent. He has ambition and great motivation. He will be there for the victories and maybe even for the title ».

The fact remains that it is almost the entire team of Lorenzo and his knowledge of the M1 which now takes care of Vinales at Yamaha. None of his former followers, except one, Juan Llansa, wanted to follow him to Ducati.
