Jorge Martin is more than impatient to discover the new sensations that a MotoGP distills. He will be one of three rookies this season in the major Grand Prix category and his training on a Panigale V4R has already made him understand that everything would be different from a Moto2. However, he already has high goals and is convinced of a bright future, provided he avoids injuries. One last remark which signals an awareness among the drivers since Marc Marquez is struggling to return to the paddock. Like a sort of jurisprudence...

George Martin will be the teammate of Johann zarco within the Pramac Ducati team in 2021. Fifth in the last Moto2 championship, he will have a GP21 while the reigning World Champion bastianini and his dolphin Marini will only owe GP19s at Avintia. A difference which shows the brand's preference for the Spanish. And the latter assumes: “ I don't know how long it will take to get to the top, but I think I will become MotoGP champion ».

He adds : " I have ten or twelve years ahead of me and, if injuries do not prevent it, which has already happened to me, I will be able to fight to win. I train with top pilots, like Maverick and others, and I see myself at their height. My dream is to be a MotoGP champion ».

Note that on his roadmap, the fear of injuries is mentioned. An element always present in the environment of pilots who are well aware of doing a risky job, but it is rarely highlighted in this way. It must be said that, since then, there has been the case Marc Marquez … A situation which seems to act as an awareness.

Jorge Martin: “we will all think more before coming back”

George Martin says so that AS : " I have no idea how Márquez is doing and when he will come back, but it is clear that his case is frightening. It will mark a before and after in our sport, both for doctors and pilots. Doctors don't treat us like normal people, because we want it that way and we are in a hurry to come back, and sometimes we do things on the edge. I myself returned to Moto3 five months after an operation and got on the podium in Austria, but from now on, what happened with Márquez, we will all think more before returning ».

An interesting position which requires verification of the facts. George Martin includes both pilots and doctors, the latter also being mistreated in the case of Marc Marquez. The teams will have to integrate this new approach, by forming teams with a solid replacement to cover all eventualities. On this level, with Stefan Bradl, Honda involuntarily got ahead...
