Between a HJC French Grand Prix consumed and an Italian deadline coming next weekend, the MotoGP table offered himself a few trial gallops to further strengthen himself and progress. On this level, we have to take stock because the big players cannot do anything at any time while seeing them perform does not necessarily mean that they are doing well for themselves and their team. It is therefore appropriate to take stock. And while we're at it, let's already talk about 2019!

For cost management reasons, there is a regulation which requires official teams to have five days of private testing per year. And not one more. Except for manufacturers whose track record needs to be expanded. Like Aprilia, KTM, and, since this year, Suzuki again. These three can file the asphalt of the circuits as many times as they want.

But for others, you have to manage. Where are we at the end of May? Ducati used three of the five days allocated: two at Jerez at the end of November and one on the Mugello track more recently. Movistar Yamaha MotoGP is at the same level, since the brand with three tuning forks had taken over the Sepang track for two days at the end of November, in addition to their visit to Mugello two weeks ago. Repsol Honda only had two days of private testing: one at the end of March in Jerez and another in Mugello. HRC therefore has one more day to play.

Furthermore, the second day of the last Montmeló tests did not count. It was considered a Michelin Test day due to the new surface of the track to be evaluated. It should also be remembered that satellite teams are entitled to six days of testing during the year.

Finally, if 2018 is underway, 2019 is already starting to be planned. Thus, the dates for the first Official Test of next year have been set by the Grand Prix Commission. The pilots will meet in Malaysia on February 6, 7 and 8 after the traditional winter break. Only two Official Tests will be organized at the start of the year and not three, taking into account the calendar.
