The Spanish editorial staff of AS had the honor of receiving a visit from Pol Espargaro. The Granollers pilot generally confirmed the remarks already made here or there, namely that the Austrian machine still required a lot of development since, let us remember, it uses many original technical solutions, starting with its tubular steel frame, its WP suspensions and its Screamer engine.

We are following the subject carefully and have already reported all of the team manager's statements Mike Leitner after the Valencia tests (see here) as well as those of Kurt Trieb, the engine designer (see here).

Espargaro Pol qualifies the RC16 as “virgin, very wild, too wild and very free” and obviously, the responsibility lies with the tubular steel chassis.

We know the pragmatic side of the Austrian firm and we still remember the famous saw cuts in the Moto3 frames…

In the same spirit, no less than 9 new steel chassis have been built, including 4 different models and already tested by Mika Kallio will be available to Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith during the next tests at Sepang which will begin on January 30.

No doubt enough to refine the direction to follow to progress and make the beauty a little less restive…
