If Honda has its Marc Márquez, it would seem that KTM has its Pol Espargaró… This is at least what emerges from the comments made in high places by the management of the manufacturer who is closely following a MotoGP adventure which will be, this year, in its fourth chapter. KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz, the T of KTM, is full of praise for his first of four RC16-equipped riders. The proof…

Pol Espargaro is from the start of the RC16 adventure in MotoGP. Dedication to the factory KTM who is today recognized at the highest level of management of the Austrian brand. The Spaniard first suffered some criticism before extracting all the quintessence from a not easy machine, even if it has calmed down since Dani Pedrosa looked into his case. Pol Espargaro even almost remained paralyzed after a heavy fall, but he got back on the saddle and opened the throttle without batting an eye... Quite a moral force.

Feats of arms and behavior that deserve the words of a Hubert Trunkenpolz thus anointing his pilot: “ Pol Espargaró an absolute hero. As he has shown in recent years, you can't expect more from an athlete. He is very professional, always full of commitment, with a totally great attitude. He's a brand ambassador, and he's always remained friendly, even though it hurts so much not to perform. »

« I couldn't imagine a better rider in MotoGP than Pol. I hope he now gets the bike he deserves to really show his class. I think there's a lot more to it than we've seen so far. He is certainly one of the best drivers and he will be able to call it again when the time comes »Assures Trunkenpolz.

Pol Espargaró will have a new teammate this season: Brad Binder. Moto2 world vice-champion in 2019, he will discover MotoGP, but the manager has full confidence in his South African: “ regarding Brad, we know he knows how to win races. This is a very, very important quality for a motorcycle rider. Riding at the front is one thing, knowing how to win a race, knowing how to start a race in the final laps and then being the first to cross the finish line, Brad knows how to do it. And if you can do it in Moto2, you can probably do it in MotoGP too. »

This weekend, the MotoGP field will make its last test gallop on the track of losail before embarking on a Qatar Grand Prix whose first free practices will take place on March 6.
