Dani Pedrosa has finished his career as a full-time Grand Prix driver. But he's not quite retired yet. He thus benefits from his good skills developed on the Honda handlebars to a KTM factory in search of experience. The start of the collaboration was marked by an initial injury and we thought it was going to be crippling. But Pedrosa recovered and got to work on the RC16. Since then, we haven't stopped it!

Factory KTM was forced to send its historic test pilot Mika Kallio at the front in place of a Johann zarco to the prematurely terminated lease. In reserve, he still had Dani Pedrosa who, since he regained his form, has not spared his efforts. And for good reason: he is carrying the development of the 2020 version of the RC16 on his sole shoulders.

“Titanium” was at Motorland Aragón a few weeks ago. He then filed down the track Jerez with his counterparts from Suzuki and HRC who are respectively Guintoli et Bradl. Three days evaluated as very productive for Mattighofen, who, in addition to working on the 2020 engine and chassis, had the opportunity to continue advancing in the area of aerodynamics of the RC16. Larger fins were tested to try to take a step forward in an area where the rest of the factories, and in particular Ducati, have a certain lead.

To Dani Pedrosa, these tests had a particular flavor because, as he himself admits, it was the first time that he had run on a track, part of which, consisting of a curve, bears his name. An event that the Spanish pilot highlighted on his social networks.

The one who is officially a MotoGP legend also shared another image with his fans: that of a kicking RC16 with aerodynamic appendages that KTM could introduce next year, with some additional fins that now almost reach the central part of the fairing.

Pedrosa still has work to do. In a few weeks he will again take part in the pre-season test in Valencia with the 16 RC2020 and, a few days later, he will once again accompany the official MotoGP riders during the last training session of the year at the Jerez circuit.
