At the heart of the paddock for years, the sporting director of LCR Honda returned, as after each Grand Prix, to the main themes of the weekend to Motorcycling.

This brand new Grand Prix in Thailand will have been an event in itself. The results, both on and off the track, are very positive, and the paddock is very happy with it, as confirmed by the sporting director of LCR Honda, Oscar Haro : “We had already come to do a test here this winter and there were already 90 people, so in the end all 000 motorcycles were running but there was no race. We expected so many people this weekend and the organization worked very well. In Asia people are huge fans of MotoGP and welcomed us with open arms. »

Nevertheless, this arrival on Asian soil was hectic for most of the people working in the paddock: “It's a difficult race because we suffer a lot from jet lag and gastroenteritis problems. We are not used to the food here. When we take something with ice there are a lot of bacteria and this affects us. People wake up at 3 or 4 a.m. and don't sleep anymore, the pilots are tired. The first GP we do in Asia is always complicated. »

Of course, the finale of the MotoGP race and the victory of Marc Márquez against Andrea Dovizioso caused a lot of talk. This allowed the Spanish driver to further increase his lead in the Championship which he is about to win: “We expect Marc to be like a calculator with numbers and graphs but I don't think he'll do that because he's a killer! It's Marc Márquez, he comes from another planet. We just have to sit back and enjoy the show. It is very likely that he will be titled in Japan and he is very happy about it because it would be in front of Honda and the Japanese public. »

Haro also commented the return of Yamaha to the forefront, one of the important topics of the weekend: “I hope, for the show, for Yamaha and for MotoGP, that it will continue like this. They deserve to win some races. Just seeing Valentino who, at almost 40 years old, fights like he did, having an incredible race, taking the lead for several laps, is great. »

Finally, he finished with the violent high side of which Jorge Lorenzo was a victim Friday and his decision to forfeit: “It took a toll on his morale. He doesn't want to get hurt and he clearly could have with this fall. So he's not happy. He is someone who is not one hundred percent if everything does not suit him. But as soon as he closes his visor and enters the track, he knows that he will forget and fight to win because that is what he is there for. This is also why he decided to withdraw. His foot was wrong, neither was his hand. He wasn't one hundred percent and couldn't win. When a MotoGP rider decides not to race it is because he has his reasons. »
