In the MotoGP paddock, the Moto2 and Moto3 categories make up the bulk of the workforce and we have arrived at a period where the teams are planning for 2022. Here is the first draft of the starting grid for the intermediate categories and it is clear that there are still pilots to be hired. Which is not only a question of talent to offer, but also of budget to provide…

Indeed, from Moto3 au Moto2, we will count a little more his money in 2022 with the example of withdrawals of Gresini and Petronas as a warning and reminder that the profession is random. About the Moto3, there are simply only five confirmed drivers, even if certain renewals not mentioned are understood to be formalities to come. The category will still lose two teams this winter: the team Petronas as Gresini Racing.

Both teams will put their human and financial resources into their project MotoGP en 2022. Le candidat remplaçant est le “Team MTA” de l’ancien pilote du Championnat du monde Alessandro Tonucci, qui n’a cependant pas encore officiellement obtenu sa place de titulaire.

Incidentally, the Aspar team announced that Sergio Garcia would stay in Moto3 for another year despite his more than convincing performances this season.

MotoGP: changes in Moto2

En Moto2, there is new blood with Peter Acosta, the revelation of this year in Moto3 which arrives among the already World Team Champions managed by Aki Ajo and supported by KTM. His teammate will be the one who now appears to be a veteran either Augusto Fernandez, defector from the Marc VDS team. It will be recalled that the current holders of the positions Remy gardner et Raul Fernandez will be promoted to MotoGP.

A second Moto3 rider moves up in category and it’s hot gabriel rodrigo, who leaves the smallest class after eight years. The Argentinian will settle in the SAG team of Tom Luthi, which ended his career. His teammate Will Bendsneyder will retain its place there.

There are also other important changes within Moto2: Aron canet leaves the Aspar team and joins Pons Racing, where he will team up with another defector since it is Jorge Navarro which drops the SpeedUp cause. Tony Arbolino also leaves the Intact GP team and will drive alongside Sam Lowes for Marc VDS.

At the Aspar team, not only will we change drivers, since Canet has left for other horizons, but we will also ride with another. A switch from the Boscoscuro chassis to Kalex is in sight, while the KTM group could sponsor the GasGas brand there, as in Moto3.

Finally, the team Petronas announced its withdrawal from lower grades this summer. It is currently unclear whether the two open spots will be taken over by another racing team.
