The fastest MotoGP™ rider in qualifying this season will be offered the all-new BMW XM Label Red
In its 25th season as the official car of MotoGP™, BMW M GmbH continues the tradition by providing the BMW M Award winner's reward. The best qualifying rider of the 2023 MotoGP™ season will be rewarded with the flagship version of the first BMW M high-performance car with an electric drive system: The all-new BMW XM Label Red (combined consumption: 1,7 – 1,6 l/100 km; combined electricity consumption: 34,5 – 33,0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 39 – 35 g/km in WLTP cycle; provisional values; figures for NEDC cycle: -). The car promised to the 2023 winner was officially revealed during the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez de la Frontera. The veil was lifted on Friday evening during the traditional “Casual Dinner” organized by Dorna Sports, holder of MotoGP™ rights, with Marc Saurina, head of global commercial partnerships at Dorna Sports, and Steffi Armbruster, head of experience of the BMW M brand.

The BMW XM Label Red, which was presented as a world exclusive in Shanghai a few days ago, embodies an extroverted lifestyle and a passion for top performance. The vehicle combines a more powerful M HYBRID system with individual design accents that unequivocally express its outstanding performance characteristics. A V8 engine as well as an electric one are integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox and generate a combined output of 550 kW/748 hp, making the BMW XM Label Red the most powerful BMW M model ever built .

The BMW XM Label Red also stands out due to its visual appearance. Since 2003, the BMW M Award has rewarded MotoGP™ riders who achieve the best results in qualifying. The stars of the discipline receive points for their positions on the Saturday morning of each Grand Prix weekend, in accordance with the system used for the races. The driver with the most units at the end of the season wins the coveted BMW M Award. The BMW M Award record holder is Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team), who won the award seven times in a row between 2013 and 2019. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) added his name to the list of winners for the first time Last year.
The start of the race weekend in Jerez de la Frontera on Thursday was marked by many spectacular displays of the car's power. BMW M organized the Drift Challenge, during which the Red Bull Drift Brothers and several drivers raced different BMW M4 models. Participants included Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), Álex Rins (LCR Honda Castrol) and Albert Arenas (Red Bull KTM Ajo), who clearly had a great time behind the wheel of the BMW M.
