Last year, Italy was hit by a series of earthquakes in its center which caused considerable damage and many victims. The peninsula had not experienced such a calamity since 1980. A situation which did not leave the Grand Prix world indifferent, which, in a burst of solidarity, collected exactly 12.159.69 euros which will go to the homeless survivors .

Thousands of people were driven from their homes by this natural disaster materialized by two powerful earthquakes. To these were added 240 tremors with a magnitude between 3 and 4, and 19 with a magnitude between 4 and 5. There were nearly 300 deaths but also 15 people were rescued and we will remember that Roman Fenati, originally from the affected region, participated in this relief effort. The number of homeless people is estimated at between 30 and 000.

To be honest, there is still work to be done and MotoGP has brought his contribution. As soon as the disaster was announced, he multiplied initiatives, from commemorative T-shirts to auctions. The total amount of T-shirts sold is therefore more than 12 thousand euros which were given to the Spanish Red Cross which will transfer the funds to its Italian counterpart.
