Five to one! Not fanny but not far.

This is the Dovizioso – Márquez score after Austria. Out of six duels, Márquez has only won once and his image as an invincible warrior takes a hit. And the inveterate iconoclast that I am (or fanatic worshiper on other occasions...) does not hate unsoldering idols...

So, from the start of this very beautiful Austrian GP (for a whole bunch of historical-genetic reasons, I have difficulty associating the words "beautiful" and "Austria" too bad I force myself) I saw Márquez misses his holeshot, gets his start screwed up and my old instinct as a motorsport music lover made me think of a false note.

More serious than a wrong note, an out of tune note.

Márquez could not, could no longer do Márquez... Officially, the driver told us that he had a wrong rear tire, but I imagine that the Michelin engineer attached to his stand must not be a fool. Márquez did a lot of testing with this software and there were therefore data, even if the temperatures were not comparable, in a computer as advanced as what we find on the circuits, there must be the software which knows, the more experience, the more the analysis of worn tires etc…

Which is a tire… But not from the holeshot! We see two male tigers beginning a sort of domination-submission struggle where, from the outset, Dovizioso is threatened and goes live... When we play rugby, we feel that at the start of the match, if we crash everything right away. Next, in front, even if they are strong, there will be doubts.

The overtaking of Quartararo (who must have been missing around 200 horsepower!) is a parenthesis, but it lasts several laps! Which allows me to endorse Fabio in terms of my great emotions, I don't know what he would have done with a real factory bike, but I saw what he did without it... Nice digression... Between parentheses…

So, once past the mischievous and gifted little bird, the big cats can finally resolve their problems of ego, of legend, of millions slammed by their respective factories, and in a way not incidental to their personal dispute, quantifiable...

Márquez the terrible then becomes the colossus with feet of clay, is this the reason why I thought I saw, from the start, that he was going to lose his hat?

I know it's easy to say that we had seen or suspected, nevertheless, I saw a dominating Dovizioso everywhere and especially a Márquez in defense, where was the untouchable kid whose legend is being built by leaps and bounds? Beaten from the start...

Well, I said quantifiable. Márquez hits once, (swashbuckler expression, thank you d'Artagnan and Cyrano de Bergerac) in Thailand in 2018. Dovizioso is on five hits: in Austria in 2017 and again this last weekend, in Japan (a " atemi » so rather than a touch) always in 2017, in Qatar in 2018 and again in Qatar at the start of the 2019 season…

In short, on the duels side, it’s the Bérézina on the Márquez side. Then, we can compare everything, the career, the titles, the legend, the pole positions, the victories, the best laps in the race, the podiums, Dovizioso is beaten everywhere.

But in single combat, that of the knights (and also of the Austrian students, with sabers, says the “Mensur ), Márquez is fanny… Or almost.

PS 1… For those who have never skipped a class, “ fanny » is an expression used in closed score sports, we win when we reach a certain number of points (table football, pétanque, volleyball, ping-pong). It can happen that the opponent wins even though we have scored zero points, we are then fanny...
