In a landscape dedicated to motorcycle racing, on a site which has abandoned Formula 1 to devote itself to Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP representations, the affair was a task. In Sepang, during the Malaysian Grand Prix, no less than six teams had their stands robbed with real economic and sporting damage since the parts are not found like that in an overseas campaign... There was so uneasiness in Malaysia but the matter is resolved with the objects found. However, the owner of the house Razlan Razali is not delighted and here is why…

This event occurred on the sidelines of Malaysian Grand Prix but it strongly impacted its protagonists. Six teams were robbed at the Sepang site where they had just set up for the event. An overall loss of approximately 150 000 euros for Gaviota Ángel Nieto (Moto3 and Moto2), BOE Skull Rider Mugen Race (Moto3), CIP Green Power (Moto3), Reale Avintia Arizona 77 (Moto3) and Red Bull KTM Ajo (Moto3).

These teams were able to honor their presence on the starting grid thanks to the solidarity of their opponents, but also and above all, their companions in the paddock. Malaysian police investigated and arrested six perpetrators for this burglary. One of the suspects was the owner of a motorcycle repair shop. The stolen items consisted of 42 racing components of different types.

The following items were successfully repaired by the police:

– 4 bags

– 26 brakes (clamps, discs, pads, etc.)

– 7 keys

– 4 steering dampers

– 2 handlebars

– 2 sets of tire heaters

– 2 team jackets

– 12 screwdrivers

– 6 bottles of brake fluid

- Etc.

According to the “Named” news agency report, three men are currently in custody. If this news item had greatly upset the circuit boss, Razlan Razali, the conclusions of the investigation risk continuing his embarrassment. Indeed, according to the police chief of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Zulkifli Adamshah, the area of the paddock where the events occurred was under the supervision of the management of the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and not of the police patrol area. Razlan Razali will therefore have to clean up... It now remains to be seen how the restitution of all these objects to their rightful owners will be done.
