So much so that Sachsenring Event GmbH and the Chemnitz-Zwickau Regional Tourism Association have just initiated a unique process: registering the German Motorcycle Grand Prix in the German register of intangible cultural heritage, with UNESCO in mind.

Le Sachsenring, the venue for the upcoming MotoGP German Grand Prix on July 13, aims to have its fan culture recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. According to Motorrad and Mundo Deportivo, Sachsenring Event GmbH and the Chemnitz-Zwickau Tourism Association are preparing a dossier for October 2025, aimed at registration in the German national register, in accordance with the 2003 UNESCO ConventionThis initiative celebrates a living tradition that transcends gasoline and bends, embodying the identity of a region and the spirit of a unique motorcycling community.
