With the current crisis and the approval still in progress of the Kymi Ring route, the news is not surprising. But it is official. The Finnish Grand Prix will not take place next July as initially planned. The meeting is postponed, like many others, to a date to be determined…

Another Grand Prix on the MotoGP calendar will be postponed. It is that of Finland, initially scheduled for July 12. The official statement of Dorna is expected, but in the meantime the Finnish government has announced that events of more than 500 people will not take place until August due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The event organizers confirmed that everything would be postponed and that: “ Dorna Sport has promised to announce the future of the Finnish Grand Prix as soon as possible“. The new KymiRing circuit was due to host the event in July, but is still awaiting official approval before it can host MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 races.

Before the Scandinavian Grand Prix, there are those ofGermany and Netherlands, which are set to be officially postponed as local governments have put restrictions in place that will prevent events from taking place on the scheduled dates. They will have to be rescheduled differently in the MotoGP calendar.

There is talk of the possibility that the season will start again from the month ofAugust, but Dorna and the FIM are still organizing this option.
