The MotoGP field in 2023 will present some interesting new features which should tighten up even more a competition with already historically low race gaps. Certainly, a Suzuki manufacturer will be missing who will have removed two motorcycles from a starting grid which will therefore go from 24 to 22 protagonists. But this does not panic Carmelo Ezpeleta who has already sworn that the ideal volume would be 20 machines. So there are still two too many... That being said, between some transferred drivers eager to start a new adventure and reshuffled teams, the next season looks promising. Let’s take the example of Tech3’s compatriots…

The team Tech3 lead by Hervé Poncharal has long defended the colors of the manufacturer Yamaha who always considered him as a client before becoming a true partner of KTM. A development which allowed this valiant team to finally register among those who have achieved at the highest level in Grand Prix, with private status. Those who, even today, say, looking no further than the results of the last two campaigns, that moving from the M1 to the RC16 was not a good idea, tend to forget this.

Rolling KTM, it is even currently better than taking care of two Yamaha if we judge by the situation of the one who succeeded Hervé Poncharal in Iwata, or Razlan Razali. The Malaysian is so happy to have Lynn Jarvis as interlocutor that he hastened to sign with Aprilia as soon as the opportunity presented itself.

A new name in MotoGP is expected: GASGAS

That being said, the best is undoubtedly yet to come for Tech3 if we listen to the boss of KTM Stefan pierer. Sure speedweek, we can read as follows: “ we are really in the process of setting up the Tech3 team in 2023 so that it is not a satellite team, but a second factory team ". And the arrival of Pol Espargaro, which will certainly be announced next weekend in Austrian lands, is part of this rise in power: “ Pol started our MotoGP project after 2017. And it's always good when the second team pushes, as Miguel did in 2020 when he won two MotoGP races at Tech3-KTM ».

However, the Portuguese refused the prospect of a return to a structure where he conquered half of his achievements in MotoGP. A situation that does not annoy the same Pierre : " I'm sorry that Miguel is leaving us, because I like him », admits the CEO of Pierer Mobility AG. “ He would have liked to retire with us. But he didn't take the Tech3 option with us ". As for the rest of the 2023 scenario, rumor has it that the colors of GASGAS are the next war adornments of Tech3 which should also keep Remy Gardner within it.
