Each year, in order of arrival and with the exception of certain famous numbers removed from the possibilities, the pilots choose which numbers will adorn the fairing of their motorcycle.

Among all the Grand Prix drivers, only one stands out by systematically using a zero in front of his number four: Andrea Dovizioso.

The reason for this “coquette”? It is not due to an advertising motivation, as we have seen in certain years with the numbers of the HP40 teams of Sito Pons or Estrella Galicia 0,0 but, questioned on the question, the ex-Ducati rider replied that he did not use the number 04 but (virtually) the 34, the number he wore when he was crowned 125cc world champion in 2004.

As the 34 was removed in honor of Kevin Schwantz, Andrea Dovizioso chose to replace the 3 with a 0, so as not to forget “his” number 34 in the premier category.

To be more precise, this artifice did not take place in 2008, when the Italian arrived in MotoGP but only from 2013, after leaving the Japanese manufacturers to go to Ducati…
