The equation is simple and the political will of the organizer Dorna is strong. Two manufacturers involved in MotoGP do not have a satellite team. And a private team is not tied to a factory. But Carmelo Ezpeleta wants his six manufacturers involved to have an armed arm. The trio brings together Suzuki, Aprilia and the Reale Avintia Racing team. The latter does not quite have a reputation that would arouse the confidence of the two aforementioned names. The chaotic soap opera of the freelance of an injured Rabat is still remembered. But we want to redeem our conduct among the Spaniards to be in tune, in 2021 at the latest.

Reale Avintia Racing aims to have official motorcycles in the MotoGP category within two seasons. During the team presentation, which took place during this first weekend of competition in Qatar, the objective of what is now the only private team remaining in the premier category was expressed. A message for the 2019 drivers who are Tito Rabat et Karel Abraham with the Ducati GP18, Vicente Pérez riding a KTM in Moto3.

The current boss Raul Romero is one of the founders of a team then called BQR (By Queroseno Racing), in 1994. The beginning of a long journey for the team which, in 2001, landed in 125cc before attacking MotoGP 2012 with the CRT experiment which only lasted two seasons. In mid-2015, an agreement with Ducati was reached, an important qualitative leap, even if the structure remains a tone below the other official and satellite teams.

While Avintia kept its private status, the team saw Pramac Racing becoming closer and closer to Ducati, Red Bull KTM signing with Tech 3, Petronas SRT emerging with Yamaha, LCR Honda continuing with HRC. Satellite teams which can all be considered "semi-official" teams, given the equipment they receive from factory structures. Reale Avintia Racing remains the only completely private team, a considerable investment which would not be possible without two big sponsors who bring in around 12 million per year.

The Andorran team will therefore try to take this step towards satellite status. “We want to be with an official team in 2021", said Raul Romero. The aim is to reach an agreement with the only two teams with only two bikes on the grid, Suzuki and Aprilia. Although Noale's house doesn't seem particularly interested, the Hamamatsu team is considering the idea. Davide Brivio would like to move in this direction, convinced that it is an additional opportunity for the development of the GSX-RR project.
