Before leaving to quarantine in Australia where, as a sort of compensation, summer is looming, Jack Miller took stock of his race in Portimao but also wanted to add some praise for Cal Crutchlow, at a time when the latter is now heading towards a role as a test rider for Yamaha.

The professional career of the man who will be an official Ducati rider in 2021 crossed that of the British in 2015 in Lucio Cecchinello's LCR team. A season in which the Australian scored 17 points against 125 for Cal Crutchlow, after having ruined his race during his home Grand Prix at Silverstone: the role of big brother was clearly assigned, between the two English-speaking teammates!

Whoever leaves his place at Pramac to Johann Zarco has not forgotten…

Jack Miller : “Before we really end the season, I can't finish without a word about my old pal 'Crutch' after his last race with us here. We'll always be friends and it's not like I wasn't going to hang out with him or anything like that anymore, but it's normal that everyone in MotoGP says thank you for everything he's done on and off the track. »

“He has been great for the sport in his 10 years here and with everything he has accomplished personally. It's not like he's leaving, because he'll still be there as a test rider for Yamaha next year and they're lucky to have him. You must have seen on TV that me and the old boy had a moment as we came out of the pit lane for the final runs in Q2: we happened to come out at the same time, so it was a nice memory to have. »

“'Crutch' is one of the hardest-working guys I've ever seen and always has been, despite injuries and setbacks and whatnot. He never gives up, just comes back and is stronger. Seeing how hard he works, it definitely rubbed off on me and made me a better MotoGP rider and professional. »

“Cal and Lucy, Cal's wife, have been incredible to me since we were teammates in 2015, and that's something you never forget. »
