Surprise! While we thought that Jorge Lorenzo had suffered a refusal, following the declarations of Max Biaggi during the presentation in the ski resort of Val Gardena of his Moto3 team in the Italian Speed Championship (CIV), the situation seems actually quite different...
Indeed, Max Biaggi declared to the press that he had refused an offer from Ducati and Jorge Lorenzo to be the latter's coach (see here). But this weekend, Trademarks informs that they were contacted by Jorge Lorenzo's entourage to deny this statement; no proposal would have been made to Corsaire, neither from Ducati, nor from number 99. “This is completely false.”
Worse, the name of Max Biaggi would not have never appeared on the list candidates to take over from Wilco Zeelenberg among the reds!
An explanation will therefore be requested soon from the Roman pilot…
Et Trademarks affirms it; Ducati and Lorenzo are still in waiting for Casey Stoner's decision d’accepter, ou pas, de prendre plus de fonctions au sein de la firme italienne. S’il devait dire “non”, il y aurait d’autres alternatives, toutes déterminées en accord avec le constructeur italien et le pilote majorquin. Mais pas Biaggi.
