The 2023 MotoGP season promises to be one of all records with a calendar with 21 Grands Prix registered, synonymous with 42 races since the sprint version of the traditional Sunday event will take place on Saturday at 15:00 p.m. But this will not be the only step taken by the program planned for next year…

The winter break is in full swing and will only end in february, month of the start of the school year for a MotoGP which will resume its interseason tests at Sepang, in Malaysia. Then we will slowly move towards the start of hostilities which will take place at Portugal from March 24 to 26. A European debut which is already a singularity in a tradition established for several years which marked the Qatar as the starting line of the campaign.

However, this European privilege is a bit of an illusion. Because the paddock is moving inexorably away from the old continent which is no longer the center of gravity of much. On the track, his methods and his machines dominate. But politically and economically, things are completely different. And this is reflected in this other record for the 2023 calendar…

MotoGP: 10 Grands Prix out of the 21 on the calendar will take place outside Europe

Thus, in 2023, ten races will take place in distant lands, which is still 47,6% of tests. The Grand Prix of Argentina, from March 31 to April 2, will follow Portugal. The Grand Prix of the Americas will take place two weeks later, before the start of the European phase, which runs until September 10. In between there will be the third trip outside Europe, with the Grand Prix of Kazakhstan which will make its big debut on the international motorcycle scene.

The end of the Asian season phase will begin from September 22 to 24 with the debut of India at the Bharat Grand Prix, followed by well-known destinations: Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and Qatar. The closing will take place in Valencia, as usual, which means a return to Europe. It's always like that.
