An inflation which should continue over time, with new appointments and even a new reserve circuit in the event of failure of a holder. For the first time, 20 Grand Prix will be on the motorcycle Grand Prix calendar, thanks to the entry of the Finland. In Brno, on the other hand, there are still slight question marks. In the coming days, the new motorcycle Grand Prix calendar for the 2020 season should be published. It brings some surprises. Thus, the Thailand Grand Prix will be transferred to the month of March, because on the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, the World Cup Superbike no longer has the right to citizenship.
In addition, Dorna needs space for the new Indonesian Grand Prix by 2022, no later than October. Even countries like Vietnam show an interest in MotoGP racing. THE Mexico, on the other hand, is no longer relevant. A maximum of 20 Grand Prix events have been agreed with MotoGP teams by the end of 2021
The promoters of the Brno Grand Prix have paid the fees of 4,3 million euros for 2019 on time. There is a valid contract for 2020. However, according to Speedweek, Dorna requires financial security because the new promoter company “Grand prix Spolek pro pořádání” has become unpopular as a defaulting payer since 2016. This company is made up of government representatives in Prague, the South Moravian region and the city of Brno.
Furthermore, with MotoGP teams, a maximum of 22 Grand Prix will be agreed for the new five-year contract from 2022 to 2026. Winter testing could then be canceled completely. The adjustments would be transferred to the first three Grand Prix. It was not until the fourth that the engine specifications were defined.
If too many new events emerge in Asia, there could be a rotation among the four Grands Prix in Spain. Finally, the track of Portimão is available as a reserve date in the event of a failed Grand Prix.
