This is the little technical history of Motegi which makes the builders look like earthenware dogs again. Certainly, there were no complaints, but the rumors spread and were sufficiently insistent to push Danny Aldridge, the technical man at Dorna, to communicate to the teams the initiative to seal the tanks. Here's why…

The basis of the story is that the 22 liters of gasoline contracts when lowered to a very low temperature. A known and tolerated subterfuge since the regulations require that this gasoline must not be at a temperature lower than 15° of the official temperature announced by the organizers.

But a rumor spread that after the check, another tank was then grafted onto the machine, thus making said check obsolete. A tank containing gasoline lowered to an extreme temperature. Which means more than the 22 liters authorized at the official temperature minus 15°…

Obviously, no one knows where the information comes from, nor if it has been verified and even less who the culprit would be. But this still gave rise to an email from Danny Aldridge and this precautionary measure, according to the elements collected by GP One ...
