It was expected, and at the Commission meeting held in Lusail on March 4, 2022, Grand Prix Commission delegates were invited to consider two alternative proposals on the issue of ride height devices.

Both were intended to prevent further performance improvements and development cost increases. After examining the proposals, the following regulation was unanimously approved. The use of any device that changes or adjusts the front ride height of the motorcycle while it is in motion is prohibited.

The Technical Director's decision will be final when determining what constitutes a front ride height device; devices that operate only once at the start of the race (i.e. “holeshot” devices) are permitted.

The final ban will be effective in 2023. Until then, it remains unclear for the moment…
