It is definitely not easy to honor a candidacy in a remodeled MotoGP calendar. The category is very popular and the contenders for a motorcycle Grand Prix in their country are thriving. Places are expensive and, to do it well, we start on a completely new project that needs to get off the ground. But it is not that simple. And we risk realizing it this summer on the side of the Finland...

A few months ago, two days of testing were officially announced for MotoGP riders on August 19 and 20 at the Kymi Ring. Or the new circuit which will mark the return of MotoGP to Finland from next season.

However, these summer tests are already under threat according to the site GP One which relays the idea that it would be unlikely that work on the new track would be completed in time for the planned tests. The expected circuit is 4,6 km long with 18 turns and is located in Kymenlaakso, just over 150 km northeast of the capital, Helsinki.

The August tests would be useful for the drivers to allow them to learn the new track and for Michelin to test the most suitable tire solutions. However, the track may not be ready for this date and the two days of testing could therefore fall through… Even if tickets for the tests are already on sale on the Finnish circuit's website.

It will be recalled that the British Grand Prix was to take place on a Welsh site which ultimately never saw the light of day. The other project of the future MotoGP calendar is located in Indonesia.
