Here, we evoked Johann Zarco like one of the grains of sand which could hinder the triumphant rise of fabio quartararo during the seventh meeting of the MotoGP world championship at the Catalunya–Barcelona circuit. We did not think that the first day of the Catalan Grand Prix would offer us such an explicit illustration, with the Ducati rider at the top of the provisional ranking after having taken full advantage of the Yamaha rider…

The last 5 minutes of FP2 in video:

But there is no harm, especially since the hierarchy composed yesterday of Johann zarco, Franco Morbidelli, fabio quartararo, Brad Binder, Francis Bagnaia, Maverick Vinales, Jack Miller, Enea Bastianini, Aleix Espargaro and Espargaro Pol should be undermined during this third 45-minute free practice session.

La weather forecasts remains mild this morning with an immaculate sky and a temperature of 25 degrees in the air, while the 31° on the asphalt should offer a little more grip than yesterday afternoon to the drivers, the latter also having of almost their entire allocation of soft tires.

As the 21 drivers prepare under the lenses of the Dorna cameras who will attempt to film some of the 24 expected spectators, let's take advantage of these few minutes of live footage thanks to the official website MotoGP.com :

When the red lights go out... Marc Marquez rushes first, Fabio Quartararo the last.

On the tire side, all options are used at the rear, the medium is the hard one at the front.

Iker Lecuona registered the first reference in 1'41.082.

Miguel Oliveira crossed the 1'40 mark in 1'39.677 then 1'39.448 while Enea Bastianini, author of a very good FP2 yesterday, fell without seriousness at turn #5.

The arrival of Miguel Oliveira in the top 10 (in provisional fourth place overall) is out for the moment Espargaro Pol.

Francis Bagnaia achieves the second fastest time of the session, quickly dislodged by the two Yamahas of Franco Morbidelli and Maverick Vinales.

At the end of the first run, the hierarchy of the session is made up of Miguel Oliveira, Franco Morbidelli, Maverick Vinales, Francesco Bagnaia, Brad Binder, Johann Zarco, Iker Lecuona, Valentino Rossi, Jack Miller, Fabio Quartararo, Aleix Espargaro, Marc Márquez, Takaaki Nakagami, Danilo Petrucci, Joan Mir, Enea Bastianini, Luca Marini , Pol Espargaro, Alex Marquez, Jorge Martin and Lorenzo Savadori.

On resumption, Joan mir achieves the third fastest time of the session, which propels him into sixth position overall, effectively ousting Alex Espargaro for pre-qualification in Q2.

Johann zarco left with the hard tire on the back.

Takaaki Nakagami, then 15th, jumped to second place in the session with 17 minutes of driving remaining. This places him fifth overall, much to the chagrin ofEnea Bastianini who is no longer pre-qualified for Q2.

fabio quartararo, equipped with soft/soft then achieved the best time of the weekend in 1'39.168 then 1'38.975 whileAlex Espargaro rises to fifth position.

We are 3/10 of a second away from the record Jorge Lorenzo carried out in 2018 (on a different route).

Almost everyone is now on a soft rear tire and Luca marini took the opportunity to obtain the 10th time of the session.

Miguel Oliveira, Franco Morbidelli and Valentino Rossi are also improving, the Italian icon pointing his nose at the gates of the top 10 in the combined…

Seven minutes from the checkered flag, Maverick Vinales recorded the second time of the session but remains almost 4/10 behind fabio quartararo.

Johann zarco then starts again on the soft rear tire…

Three minutes before the flag is lowered, Joan Mir is inserted between the two official Yamahas while Lorenzo Savadori makes a minor mistake. The Italian rider sees his position threatened at Aprilia and the name of Joe Roberts is generally whispered…

Curiously, Johann zarco does not achieve any interesting time, while on the contrary Miguel Oliveira points its KTM RC16 only 76/1000 behind the Yamaha of fabio quartararo !

In extremis, Franco Morbidelli achieves the best time 1'38.929, or 46 thousandths ahead El Diablo, while Valentino Rossi includes the list of pre-qualified for Q2.
