To compose the undoubtedly spicy soup of the Indonesian MotoGP Grand Prix on the Mandalika circuit, pour into a new cauldron a good quantity of Ducatis, elevated to the status of scarecrows since the second part of the 2021 season and winners of the first 2022 GP in Qatar thanks to Enea Bastianini on a GP21, even if the official team equipped with GP22 experienced a human-technical Bérézina for Francis Bagnaia et Jack Miller.
Add half a portion of Honda, whose Factory team seems on the verge of transforming into a two-headed hydra thanks to the progress of the RC213V, unlike in past years where only Marc Marquez was able to domesticate the wild beast: in Qatar, Espargaro Pol led more laps in a single race than he had ever done before and was fastest in the test on the island of Lombok!
Immerse yourself in a surprising KTM, frozen and timid during the pre-season but very present at the forefront led by Brad Binder in Qatar. Also pour in a half-ration of Aprilia, in this case that ofAlex Espargaro, 4th at Losail after the closest race to the winner that the Noale factory has ever done.
Even if for the moment they have proven to be less spicy elements in terms of taste, we will not forget to mix everything with two Suzuki GSX-RR and a quarter of Yamaha YZR-M1, latest titles to date with Joan mir et fabio quartararo, therefore essential ingredients of a good recipe, especially since the first 21 of the third day of the Test in Mandalika were separated by only eight and a half tenths!
Finally, sprinkle everything with a pinch of slightly less adherent resurfaced asphalt, Michelin tires on the carcass not unused during the test, still very uncertain weather in these eastern regions and a track temperature exceeding 70° in the afternoon, then continue to heat over low heat until Sunday 8 a.m. to discover what exotic flavor this Indonesian recipe will have on our taste buds!

This morning, on a track that is still very far from being clean, as the Moto3 showed at the end of the session, Pol Espargaro, Miguel Oliveira, Marc Márquez, Franco Morbidelli, Johann Zarco, Aleix Espargaro, Brad Binder, Enea Bastianini, Francesco Bagnaia and Joan Mir took a first step towards direct passage to Q2, the first three in less than a tenth of a second, while Fabio Quartararo had to settle for 16th time…
This afternoon, there is no longer any question of rain and, on the contrary, it is now the temperatures which are worrying: with 32° in the air and 65° on the ground, will we see substantial improvements and, without doubt, an upheaval of the provisional hierarchy?
While waiting to answer these questions, as the 24 drivers prepare for this second 45-minute free practice session, let's take advantage of these few live moments thanks to the official website MotoGP.com :

Most riders use a medium rear like this morning, but have swapped the soft front for a medium.
at the end of the first thrown round, Fabio Quartararo is straight away in 1'34.410 But the French driver seems to know this: he is stopped at the side of the track.

We fight by thousandths and the KTM rider regains the advantage in 1'33.212 but his lap is canceled. In the process, it is Takaaki Nakagami who took the lead in 1'33.265 then respectively George Martin et Brad Binder in 1'33.176.
The improvements follow one another without interruption and after 12 minutes in the session, Johann zarco writes his name again at the top of the table before it is replaced by Miguel Oliveira, in 1'32.707: this morning's times are forgotten and the hierarchy turned upside down! Only Pol Espargaro, Joan Mir and Maverick Viñales have not yet improved compared to this morning.
When the drivers return to their box for a first stop, the hierarchy is made up of Miguel Oliveira, Marc Márquez, Johann Zarco, Jack Miller, Brad Binder, Aleix Espargaro, Jorge Martin, Takaaki Nakagami, Alex Rins, Enea Bastianini, Franco Morbidelli, Francesco Bagnaia, Raul Fernandez, Marco Bezzecchi, Luca Marini, Fabio Quartararo, Pol Espargaro , Alex Marquez, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Andrea Dovizioso, Remy Gardner, Maverick Vinales, Joan Mir and Darryn Binder.
fabio quartararo comes out of his box and then records the eighth time with a soft rear tire.

Jack Miller progresses to fifth position, also with a soft rear tire, but El Diablo Improves and grabs third position.
Francis Bagnaia, still on a medium tire at the rear, is in provisional second place while with 18 minutes to go before the checkered flag, everyone has now improved their morning time.

You have to wait six minutes before the end of the session to see the soft tires coming out everywhere. The Rookie Marco Bezzecchi takes third place and Jorge Martin, then 11th, is the first to light up the sectors in red: the Pramac driver registers 1'31.904 at the top of the table!
Enea Bastianini, Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller, Brad Binder, Takaaki Nakagami, Aleix Espargaro and Fabio portray Antonio are fighting for second position but it is Johann Zarco who takes the lead in 1'31.893.
