The Ducati armada may well have known some jolts during the first day of the Qatar Grand Prix at the renowned Lusail circuit, qualifying put things back in order with three Desmosedici in the first four places. The only survivor interspersed in this Borgo Panigale offensive, Marc Márquez will try to use his talent, his experience and his brand new Honda RC213V to conquer the first step of the podium against the young guard represented by George Martin et Enea Bastianini, while incredibly the Suzukis once again found their old demon by failing in qualifying despite a visibly overcharged engine.

Bérézina also for our French drivers who will start 11th and 13th, even if Johann zarco seems perhaps more capable of moving up the peloton than fabio quartararo.

But nothing is ever written in advance and all these MotoGP riders now have 20 minutes to refine their settings and validate the desired tire option.

This will be determined during this session which will take place with temperatures of 30° in the air and 46° on the asphalt to give us a taste of what we will be able to see this afternoon at 16 p.m. hours in the light of the Qatari spotlight.

When the red lights go out...Miguel Oliveira rushes first then for once Fabio Quartararo leaves with the platoon. The French driver is equipped with a soft tire at the rear, perhaps a solution for the race…

After a round, Marc Márquez et Francis Bagnaia return to the pit lane to change motorcycles. At the end of the first round, Fabio Quartararo registered 1'55.349 then leaves the lead on the next passage to Johann zarco in 1'55.016 before regaining the leadership in 1'54.781.

The Devil improves in 1'54.654 while Marc Márquez makes a minor mistake at turn #10.

This is the moment when Miguel Oliveira takes command before granting it to Enea Bastianini in 1'54.519.

At mid-session, the hierarchy is made up of Enea Bastianini, Miguel Oliveira, Fabio Quartararo, Jorge Martin, Franco Morbidelli, Alex Rins, Joan Mir, Johann Zarco, Francesco Bagnaia, Aleix Espargaro, Marc Márquez, Alex Márquez, Maverick Vinales, Pol Espargaro, Raul Fernandez, Marco Bezzecchi, Jack Miller , Takaaki Nakagami, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Brad Binder, Luca Marini, Andrea Dovizioso, and Darryn Binder.

A little heat at the start for Pol Espargaro...

Five minutes from the checkered flag, Raul Fernandez minor fall at turn #4.

Fabio DiGiannantonio also made a mistake a few moments later at turn #1.

One minute before the checkered flag, Alex Espargaro seizes second position which he immediately concedes to Johann zarco.

Enea Bastianini will therefore be in full confidence this afternoon, when he starts from the grid from 2nd position…

See you at 16 p.m. for the race!
