Riders half positive, half negative, an FP3 shortened by a wet asphalt at the start of the session, Ducati who no longer rely only on Johann Zarco to carry the torch of Borgo Panigale, an increasingly valiant Franco Morbidelli at the helm of his 2019 Yamaha, a Pol Espargaró who is not giving up even though he will be officiating for Honda next year (and this is to his credit) and a championship leader who this morning was able to enter the top 10 at the opposite of the Fabio Quartararo–Álex Rins duo from its closest adversaries, this is the panorama that emerges at the end of the first three free sessions of the Valencian Community Grand Prix.
Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller, Pol Espargaró, Johann Zarco, Maverick Viñales, Takaaki Nakagami, Joan Mir, Francesco Bagnaia, Miguel Oliveira and Aleix I will espargaro therefore pre-qualified for Q2 on the Ricardo Tormo circuit, while Fabio Quartararo, Danilo Petrucci, Andrea Dovizioso, Cal Crutchlow, Álex Rins, Brad Binder, Stefan Bradl, Valentino Rossi, Álex Márquez, Tito Rabat and Lorenzo Savadori will have to go through Q1 if they want to appear on the first four rows of the starting grid tomorrow at 14 p.m.
For this 4-minute FP30 intended to refine the racing rhythm, the conditions seem good despite a few drops of rain falling during Q1 of Moto3, with certainly a very gray sky but a dry track and temperatures of 19° in the air and 20° on asphalt.
