This penultimate Q1 of the 2020 MotoGP season has a very special flavor. It brings together the two drivers who are competing for second place in the general classification with still a mathematical chance of winning before the final whistle to the detriment of leader Joan Mir. There is even an Andrea Dovizioso also in the running for the crown. However, only two competitors will continue their journey in Q2…

Two places far from guaranteed since the two officials Honda are also there and will be keen to join their colleague in the final Nakagami who is also the teammate of a Crutchlow also of this festival. Valentino Rossi enhances this quarter-hour competition with its aura. No doubt, the task of Kidneys and Quarterly will not be a formality...

What will come out of it? Before answering this question, here is the table which summarizes the facts known so far…

We will recall that fabio quartararo was not overjoyed when he found himself in this competition for only two thousandths...

But here we are, and in view of recent events, it will not be easy for the Frenchman who is very clear about his feelings with the M1…

However, we will have to go into battle with... 18° in the air and the same on a dry track with an overcast sky, these are the conditions proposed to the pilots for the 15 minutes of exercise. But now the first drops are falling!

The drivers rush to the track, fearing the heavy downpour which would fundamentally change the conditions on the track.

The first reference goes to Brad Binder in 1'31.502 ahead Quarterly. The KTM official accelerates in 1'30.810, Fabio remains in his wake. Crutchlow is currently the first to be eliminated, ahead of Petrucci, Rins et Dovizioso.

Alex Marquez falls very hard at turn 11. The Honda official remains on the ground and seems to be in pain. But Marc's brother is strong and gets back on his feet. He walks off the track. There are five minutes left and for this last run, fabio quartararo don't wait to go back into battle.

The rain does not let up, so much so that the ranking appears to be frozen. Red passes sixth, in front Dovizioso. We leave it there with therefore there, which is not to the taste of Suzuki which leaves Kidneys in Q1…

Brad Binder et Quarterly continue. Crutchlow et Kidneys follow. Rossi will be 16th on the grid ahead Dovizioso.
