Mid-season has arrived in MotoGP, marked by a very useful summer break to take stock and organize for the future. Livio Suppo, the man from HRC, is not the last to do the analysis. Its pilot Marc Márquez will take the lead, in Brno, on August 4, the date which will mark the resumption of hostilities for the last part of the title race. But he warns: this season, anything is possible, especially with an indestructible Valentino Rossi!
Public chat speedweek, Livio Suppo, Racing Consultant recalls the general situation: “ in 2016 we had nine different winners, and this year we already have five drivers who have won after nine Grands Prix. It’s an exciting and spectacular championship. He's very open and that's good for the fans. But maybe less for us! Because for us, only results count ».
On the strength side, and despite the pessimistic comments of Marc Márquez on its current RC213V, Livio Suppo, Racing Consultant offers his perspective: “ we have a bike that has achieved three successes with two different riders. There are some good things and some not so good things, we all have ups and downs. Starting with Yamaha who we thought was superior at the start of the season ". It will be recalled that if Ducati has two achievements with the same rider, Andrea Dovizioso, among the tuning forks, we are at four realizations with, also, two pilots.
And among this pair of Iwata, we see the presence of the essential Valentino Rossi : “ I have never worked with Vale » comments Livio. “ But I appreciate it immensely. It never ceases to amaze us. For example, in Assen, during the warm-up, when the rain started, he went out on the track to try something else. And he had a hell of a race afterwards! These last few laps in particular were incredible. I take my hat off to him ».
The Doctor is currently fourth overall, ten lengths behind Marc Márquez.
