The Ducati rider spoke about his complicated 2018 season during his visit to the EICMA show in Milan.

Like other pilots, Jorge Lorenzo went to the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan to meet its fans and spend some time at some of the stands. He obviously also answered questions from journalists, and spoke in particular with TV Journal about his 2018 season.

This year has been one of the worst of his career. Apart from his first two years in 125cc in 2002 and 2003, he has never finished outside the final top 5 of the Championship, except last year when he finished seventh, and this year. He currently occupies tenth place, although he could move up at the end of the Valencia Grand Prix. Despite his three victories and his podium in Brno, he also has four blank results as well as three race absences due to injury.

Aware of these difficulties, he calmly returned to this season on the Italian channel: “It’s impossible to be consistent every season of your career. I remember, for example, 2010 where I finished all the races on the podium except two where I finished fourth. It had been an incredible season at the end of which I had broken the history points record. And conversely, there are seasons like this where we cannot maintain this consistency due to mistakes, bad luck or other reasons. I haven't always been on the podium, but when I did, it was incredible! Mugello, Montmeló or Austria after beating Márquez… This season has not been consistent, but when the good moments have arrived, they have been really very good. There were really three parts: the beginning of the season, very negative, then the middle of the season which was incredibly positive, and finally the last part which was negative due to bad luck. I can't end my time at Ducati the way I would have liked. »
