Loris Baz is honing his weapons on the eve of a 2017 MotoGP season which will be his third participation at this level of motorcycle speed. For this vintage, he will not be the only tricolor on the starting grid since Johann zarco joined him. A good thing according to the Avintia Ducati rider.

The former Kawasaki Superbike official boasts three top 5 finishes since his arrival among the elite, with two fourth places as his best results. The first was acquired at the end of the San Marino Grand Prix in 2015 and the second in the Czech Republic last year.

His best qualification is a tenth position achieved in 2016 in Malaysia. And he participated on three occasions in Q.2, decisive for the spots available at the top of the starting grid. To be honest, it's not so bad for the pilot who will turn 24 on the 1ster next February.

That said, this year he sees the arrival of a compatriot crowned with a double World Champion title and claiming the best track record in French motorcycling in Grand Prix. It is Johann zarco which will also have a Yamaha which we suppose is more frisky than the Ducati GP15 which Loris will have. A comparison on which the teammate of Barbera don't linger. Because the essential thing is elsewhere.

Public chat MotoGP.com, Loris Baz explain : " I don't see the arrival of Johann Zarco as an additional challenge. Having two French riders in MotoGP is positive for French motorcycling. When you race, the goal is to beat as many drivers as possible. There is very often a race within the race against your teammate, because it is easy to compare yourself to him ».

« But it is especially the supporters who like to add a little spice during the races between drivers of the same nationality. If we both manage to be on a podium, it will definitely be better than being the only one. I remember the time when there was Sylvain Guintoli and Randy De Puniet in MotoGP and I have great memories of them. I'm happy to be part of this new story ».
