It is a human adventure which ends for reasons of the same value. Between Luca Cadalora and Valentino Rossi the complicity was so close that the elder ran with the pilot by proxy. Constant involvement, on all continents, during 19 Grands Prix. A responsibility that the historic car rally enthusiast and father of two daughters has decided to no longer take on. By mutual agreement, the story ended. And the two champions part as good friends.
The Doctor admits, he did everything to keep him by his side. But he understands and respects what is a lifestyle choice. For his part, Luca Cadalora is grateful: “ I decided to take a break. I spent three amazing years with Valentino. He is an extraordinary champion. He is not only exceptional as a driver but also as a person. I hope the friendship formed lasts forever ».
He specifies on GP One : " I was in direct contact with Yamaha engineers. I was 100% involved. We had moments of great bonding, but we also worked hard. His team and mechanics are exceptional. I told them they made me understand why I was losing to Mick Doohan. It's because people like them were with him and not with me. Vale extended my career by three years, because I always felt like I was with him on the bike. I gave three years of my life. I think it's time to stop ».
